It was an ODBC issue...Thank you!

Have you 'ever' had this client computer connected to GP - any version - any time?

If so, there may be some 'old' registry key hanging in the system for the old verison of GP.

If this is new workstation, I would consider looking at the ODBC connection.  Of course logged in as Admin - make sure that the ODBC connection works first.  IF not, solve that first and then re-install the GP Client

    Hi,

We are using MS SQL 2012 and we already have employees connecting to it through the client version installed on their PC.

Is it something that we are doing wrong during the install that make the install think that we are trying to connect on another SQL server?

    Thank you,

    Sylvain

This is a compatibility error related to SQL server. If this is a client installation, you need to make sure that you are installing the exact same Dynamics GP version on the same SQL server.

Dynamics GP 2013 is compatible with SQL Server 2012 and 2008 R2 SP1 or later.

The case has been reported previously on the community, and it was due to incompatible SQL server, here is there link
