I get this error in our Production environment when using Excel workbook designer to pull a data entity using an user access but when I use the same access in a non prod environment, I was able to retrieve records of this data entity. I tried with other entities and had the same issue. I don't find anything on Microsoft Issue search. Hoping someone could share some knowledge here.
An error occurred while retrieving the row count of entity. User is not authorized to read view.
Just wanted to update on my post.
Microsoft is unable to explain why D365 behaves differently between environments. However, when I assigned security privileges related to the entity to user in our production environment, the user can pull the data entity.

Hi ED,
Thanks for checking and providing the outcome. Maybe there was an issue during a database sync where a view is not available on SQL server, but this is a guess. You can enforce a database sync by installing a new deployable package or put the environment in maintenance mode, wait for about 10 minutes, and then disable the maintenance mode. If this will not help or you don't want to try this, you can create a ticket for Microsoft.

Hi Andre,
Some configuration keys are not enabled in our PROD but the same ones are also not enabled in our non prod. I compared the configuration keys between two environments and they are exactly the same.
1- Can you check the Security roles assigned to the user may be there are a difference on it?
2- Try another user with the same roles and double check if the same issue is existing?
Thank,
Waed Ayyad
