How do i configure contacts on Orders to only allow contacts associated with the account?

Hi Guys,

I have a lookup field for Contacts on my Order Form however users can choose contacts inside there even if its not associated with the account? How can i prevent that?

Reason i am trying to prevent contacts not associated to the account is that there is a flow that auto creates a case for the order however if the contact is not associated with the account case creation fails.

Thanks guys.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Jimmar,

To filter the “Contact” lookup field on the Order record so it only displays contacts related to the Account that we specify on the Order you need to filter contact lookup field

    1. Go to Settings–>Customizations–>Customize the System, then expand the “Entities” section, and navigate to the Order entity. Select “Forms” to open up the form you want the lookup field filtering to apply to

    2. Double click the contact Lookup field to apply the related record filter to. This will open the “Field Properties”. Scroll down a bit to see the “Related Records Filtering” section:

In the below example, we want to only display Contacts whose Account matches the Account on the Opportunity, so we’ll enable this section and make the following selections. You can do the same for Order entity as well

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Tina

In regards to your concern, you will set lookup view based on your preferences.

Thanks Tina, this actually helped on a side note since i didnt want users to be able to see\add other contacts that are not associated to the account i disabled the option where users can turn off filters and only allowed lookup views. Thanks again.
