I have the below requirement
I have a custom form to capture the results for tests with different parameters. i,e Tests can have results with different parameters which are different type of data types like String, Integer, Real and Boolean values which are on a same field.
All tests are stored in Table Tests with fields (Test name , min, max)and all the results are stored in Table Results with fields like (Result, and Boolean field that says pass/fail)
The form is designed to have a grid with Table Tests as primary data source and a temporary Table Results joined to the first data source with inner join.
A specific test can have multiple results so the user will enter the results on the grid and highlight the record and hit post button which will post the results to Table Results.
I made the results field based on Edit method, since it needs to hold multiple data types for each type of test. When user enters the value in result field the next field for pass/fail should be populated automatically by calculating values based on min max fields on primary data source, for this I made the field a display method.
My requirement is that every single time the form is opened, the second datasource must be totally blank and the user enters and post the values. When the user enters value and closes the form, the values should be erased from the form the next time it is opened.
Please suggest me a better design.
Here is my issue - When I enter value for the first row and go to the next row I get error saying the record is updated by some other user which is false - Here I am initializing values to the temp table directly on Modified method, and not calling any insert/update method
Also I am putting logic in modified method of the field Result to populate the pass fail field which is not working.
