RoleService::VerifyCallerPrivileges failed. CRM upgrade 2015 to 2016 (OnPrimese)

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello!  I've updated the CRM from 2015 to 2016 version (OnPrimise). After that, I have an account with system administrator role. But if I try to assign some roles (including the system administrator), i get an exception:

Unhandled Exception: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault, Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35]]: System.Web.HttpUnhandledException: Microsoft Dynamics CRM has experienced an error. My Account is part of the system administrator role, deploy administrator, CALType = Proffesional, AccessMode = Read and Write.

Waiting for any help, thank you!

Hi all. Thanks for answers. When i update CRM, i install update rollup, but not update organization (Deploy management, select organization and select update in right panel). Apparently this was the error with the role.

can you please send the screenshot of error..

    on workaround try this

    .       Navigate to Settings>Security>Security Roles.

    2.       Open the Security role and navigate to Core Records.

    3.        Assign the Organization level privileges to Data Performance Dashboard entity.

    4.       Save and close the record.

    Hi ,
    try below things
    1) a user with the role of System Administrator , access mode Administrative , license Type Administrative can't enable access properties of custom entities to security role ( i.e. Salesperson ) , because verify access on these entities fails . Moreover this user can't vary his own access mode and he can't assign the role of System Administrator to another user  modifie the table SystemUserBase giving Full Access and Full License to the user System Administrator ! And everythings  would  better.
if this not work try below option
    2) Create new organisation and check if you are able to create the organisation and able to access it successfully.
    Thank you !
