Report Options Corrupted

Posted on by 195

When I applied the latest service pack to GP version 10, all my companies(25) upgraded successfully except one.  It would not upgrade the report options tables.

PM70500, GL70500 and SY70500

When I attempt to create a new report option I receive the following message:

I have tried deleting the tables, dropping the tables, recreating tables and stored procedures.  I copied the tables from a working company and imported them in.  I ran File Maintenance Checklinks on Company Report Options.  Still receive the message.

I hope you can help, I am extremely frustrated.

Yes that is good advice and I will be sure to make better plans on updates in the future.

Can you guide me to any such tools?

Bill, you may keep running into this. I think someone at some time was using SSIS to copy tables from one database to another and did not check the uniqueness setting so for the newly created tables the DEX_ROW_ID column was not set to be an indentity column. There are SQL tools that compare table strcurtures. You may want to be proactive to find them before you upgrade as opposed to during the upgrade.

Ok, so as I am typing and not thinking :) I read my message and then it hits me - I have been looking for REPORT options, not General Ledger Report OPTIONs ;( spent all this time going to school and I can only read it if it on the internet - go figure.

THink I have it solved - I have been able to DROP and RECREATE the tables and not getting error anylonger.

When i click on Save in the above sequence, it saves the option name.  When I go to use the Option it generates a message - GL_Options_ROPT files accessing SQL Data - click on more info - number of results columns doent match table definition.

What is the man readable name of the GL70500 and GL70501 table when you look at the SQL Maintenace to Create Tables and Create Stored Proc?

[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'DEX_ROW_ID', table 'G2014.dbo.GL70500'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails.

This is the error message I get - similar to the mesage above.

When we did our conversion from gp 10 to gp 11 - lastest service pack - we encountered the error on the GL70500 and GL70501 table on almost all of the company databases.  There are 20 of them and they are not happy campers.

A Save Operation on table PM_Options_ROPT has created a duplicatekey

    More Info button:

[Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'Dex_Row_ID, table SVI.dbo.PM70500, column does not allow nulls.  INSERT fails
