USD navigation rule capturing "tel:" url on an interactive service hub page

Hello everyone,

Installed the Unified Service Desk Interactive Service Hub example by using the PackageDeployer (version 3.2)

I'd like to trigger an action when the user clicks on the business phone icon of a contact. When using a regular CRMPage the action can be triggered by using a navigation rule (as described here: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/153062) but how do I need to define the same navigation rule for an ISH page?

What I've tried so far:

- Navigation rule Order:1, Url: tel:, Route Type: In Place, Destination: Tab, Action: None

- When clicking on the phone icon - no event is shown in the Debugger and an IE popup appears asking me if i want to allow this website to open a program on my computer.

Thank you

Try creating one another navigation rule :

Order:2, Url: tel:, Route Type: PopUp, Destination: Tab, Action: None

    try now

    Hi Srikanth,

    Thank you for your answer.

Even with those two navigation-rules in place, my attached action call is not called (still nothing in the Debugger)

So this is how my USD configuration actually looks like:

    1) Rule1: Order:1, Url: tel:, Route Type: In Place, Destination: Tab, Action: None

    2) Rule2: Order:2, Url: tel:, Route Type: Popup, Destination: Tab, Action:None

Both navigation rules have an actioncall attached to them (so that I can see which one is triggered in the Debugger - if any at all)

I even tried to enter "*" in the Url in order to "catch" any url - but even this did not trigger any activity in the Debugger

Do you have any other idea or have you ever seen this working?

    Thanks!

when you hover over the phone number link in CRM, you should see a href url linked to it in the bottom left in a tooltip kind of status bar. Can you check what is that link? Is it tel: or something else?

Good idea, unfortunately the url is not shown in the browsers status bar. Viewed the HTML/JS, tried to find out the href url - could not make too much sense out of the code though.

Another approach was to let the CRM open the url in another browser (chrome) and check the command line arguments in the task manager.

Did that for both Dynamics apps:

    TelURL.JPG

The only difference is that, when I click on the phone number in the "Customer Service" app, the country/region code prefix is added to the number. This prefix although shouldn't make a difference for the navigation rule because the beginning for both apps is "tel:"
