Adding a grid that will allow to search a field in a different entity and add the record to the current entity record

Posted on by

Hi All,

I want to edit the Account Entity form as follows.

Want to include contact entity Full name and email as a grid display in Account entity form. In this case I
want to search contact's name from Account form and add the relevant contacts to the account, but user shouldn't be able to add new contacts to the system using this grid. I have many contacts for one Account, that's why I want to do this is as a grid.

I have tried the lookup field, but this will allow only to add only a one record/ contact. Also tried 1:N and N:1 relationship , in this case the issue is the custom created lookup field (the lookup creating while creating the relationship) creating in the contact entity, but I need  that in the contract entity. I used 1 contract can have Many contacts , and tried Many contacts has 1 contact.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Hi Dineth,

For this we have to create N:N Relationship between contact and contract form.

    1. In Contract form choose new N:N relationship and choose other entity as  'Contact'.

    2. In Display option, choose "Use custom Label" and enter the desired label for reference.

    3. Then in contract form choose the N:N relationship contact in the grid and select the view as "All contacts in the grid". Now you can add all contacts in the contract form.

    Thanks,

    Vignesh Mohan

Is your requirement is to add multiple contacts to subgrid in account form?

    Hi Francesco,

Thank you very much for your reply, the contact grid with hidden "add button" will do the job. But it doesn't allow to search contacts that is already exists in contact entity and add the contact to the contract.  This is the core functionality that I'm after.

    Any thoughts please.

    Thanks.
