Citrix printing with SL 2011

I have encountered an issue where users accesing SL 2011 as a published app are getting roi errors everytime a print preview is generated.  If the users utilize a pdf writer, then this does not happen.  I suspect that the issue is related to the citrix universal print driver.  Anyone else encountered this and willing to share a solution?

In the past we had to install the SL Server Application on the Termial Services Server in order to maintain the performance for the clients (via RemoteApp). Perhaps try that. I would mean that both the SL Application Server and the Termial Services Server would have to be updated with any SL custom report, hotfixes, etc.

    Hi Randy,

I researched hot-fixes available.  Before trying that, have you tried using a different printer driver?  I was also wondering if you left Citrix out of the picture, do you still get the error?  I also have listed below a few other items to try.

    1.  Are you familiar with the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) settings?  I wonder if you can add ROI.exe to the DEP on the server?  To do this:

    1.  Right-click My Computer , and then click Properties .

    2.  In Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP, click the Advanced tab. In Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008, click the Advanced system settings link.

    3.  In the Performance section, click Settings .

    4.  On the Data Execution Prevention tab, click Add .

    2.  I understand if the user first goes into SL printer settings (file > Printer setup) and sets the printer to “print to file” do they get the same behavior from the reports.  Is that what you meant when printing to a PDF?

    3.  Finally, can you go to the SL root directory on the server and create a new file.  We want it to be a .tlb file called debug.tlb.  Please make sure it isn’t retaining the .txt extension.  This is a log file of sorts that should log more info about the crashing of ROI.

Let me know how it goes.

The listed version number is 8.01.21108.01 (SL 2011 with SP1 and no hot fixes)

    Hi Randy,

I'm not sure from the information you supplied above if you have any hot-fixes already applied to your environment.  There are some hot-fixes that have new ROI.exe files.  If you would send me the detailed version information I could see if a hot-fix might help in this situation.

    Hi Randy,

What is the version of SL 2011 that you are using?  Can you tell me the version information from the Help | About Microsoft Dynamics SL screen?
