California Sales Tax GP Set up

Posted on by 65

I am concerned that our CA sales tax scheduled were setup incorrectly during our conversion.  I am hopeful that I can get some set up information from some of you that have set up California sales tax scheduled in GP.  The person that set up our sales tax did separate schedules for the California base, County Base and District base.  Then they set up one county schedule and attached all 3 to form one percentage.  I am wondering if it is possible to just set up one schedule for each county without all of the additional stuff.  I am hopeful that I can get some feedback, as the sales tax report is awful with how the current set up was done

If you're wondering if you can use just one Tax Detail which combines all the rates, yes you can.  if you don't need the additional detail by jurisdiction, that would work fine.  You have to setup the Tax Detail and attach to to a Tax Schedule.
