We are selling license keys for e-books in our bookstore. Currently they are manually handing out the keys. Is there a way to enter those keys in RMS and have the receipt print the keys and the system keep track of available license keys? Can this be done with RMS or a plugin?

In the Item Properties window on the General tab there is a drop down to select what type of item you are working with. If you select Serialized, the Serial tab will be available to enter serial numbers. There are more options as well, such as allowing cahsiers to enter serial numbers, etc.. The help file does a pretty good job of explaining. Just do a quick search for 'serial number' or 'serialized'..
You can pring the serial number that sold on the customers receipt as well.
Where would I find that option at? (FYI - I am the IT guy, not the one using the system daily)
