How do you send a case email to a contact?

Posted on by 40

HI, I have created a new case in Dynamics CRM & assigned it a contact.

I would like to email the contact an email that acknowledges receipt of their email & confirms their case number.

Ive created these in the email templates section, but when I go into the case, then timeline....Im clicking on the + sign & selecting email.

This is then creating an email to send to the contact but it wont fine the email template when I search for it. Ive created the template as "global" - no joy

Ive set it to service activity, no joy. The only time it finds it is if the template type is contact, however it doesnt pick up the case number fields (as hese arent available as a type of "contact"

So Im just really after what is the best way to email someone a note of their case?

Im using a template like:

Thank you for contacting the  HBP Monpellier Support team on {!Case:Created On;} .

Your enquiry has been logged with case no {!Case:Case Number;}

Should you wish to provide any more information that would help us, please reply to this e-mail.

Any help would be much apprecaited

Thanks

James
