Automated Weekly Order

I have a client who wants automated weekly orders.

Description of the ticket: Is there a way we can set up a weekly order that the system will automatically process? This would be for the same fee, every week on the same day, with as little manual intervention as possible.

I suggested the recurring sales invoice and the user came back with the following: I know how to make a recurring sales invoice, I was just wondering if there was more of an automated option that could be set up once, and then would run like a task each week?

Can one use a job queue for this? And if so, how do I do this?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

I think we can achieve this using Power Automate and BC standard connector.

First you need to default everything for a customer, this will make sure all default values are fetched in Sales Invoice and no manual intervention is required. Like Payment terms, Customer Recurring Sales Line etc.

Then use Power Automate to create a scheduled flow, use SalesInvoices API to Create Record and Post Sales Invoice action to post the invoice.

Let me know if any query.

It is indeed possible to do this using Power Automate. Below is an example of PO to SO. You can specify the SO to be the new SO.
Dynamics 365 Business Central: How to create Sales Order from Purchase Order with Power Automate – Copy Document from PO to SO

Of course, this can also be achieved through customization and a Job Queue.

Hope this can give you some hints.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
Yes, you can automate this in standard Business Central by combining Recurring Sales Lines with the “Create Recurring Sales Invoices” batch job and scheduling that batch job through the Job Queue. The setup is to define the recurring sales lines, assign them to the customer, then create a Job Queue Entry that runs the Create Recurring Sales Invoices report weekly; optionally add another job queue entry for Report 297 – Batch Post Sales Invoices if you want them posted automatically. This gives you a mostly hands-off weekly invoice process without manual intervention.
