Calendarized FRx Reports

Posted on by 125

Does anyone know if there is a way in FRx Calendarized Reports (i.e. displaying account balances month by month) to set it up so that it can do the following 2 things:

Calculate Averages based upon the Base Month (i.e. if I am running the report as of May 31st, it would average the balances by 5 months).

Only display information up to the base month and all months prior.

I have tried and tried and nothing works.

 Thanks,

 Gordon

(Note: my version of FRx is quite old, so the following might not work depending on what version you have.) Task 1: Average balance - this problem I don't know how to solve. Currently I am working on it myself. Task 2: This I think I can help you with. First, you will need one column for each of the 12 months in the year. Then you will use the conditional column settings in the PRINT CONTROL row of the Column Layout to determine whether each column is displayed or not depending on the base period. In the print control row, choose the following condition for each column: P is less than or equal to B, using the mathematical less than or equals sign. This makes the column conditional on the base period so that the period P will only display and be included in calculations if it is less than or equal to the base period B. You can then add a calculated column to take the sum of the 12 columns but you must write the formula as C plus D plus E etc instead of as C to M. This calculated column will give the sum of all periods less than or equal to the base period. NOTE: you could divide the resulting total by 5 to get the average for all months, but I don't know how to make the number 5 change according to the base period. I only know how to do it as constant that would have to be changed manually according to the base period, not as a variable that changes dynamically according to the selected base period. Hope this helps. If you get any answers on Task 1, please post. Thanks.
