Hi guys, a question about Flowfield.

Right now i have a flowfield that lookup the sales line unit price. However, after i post the sales order, the sales line will be empty as well as the flowfield. What i want to do is to keep the unit price in place and do some calculation on it. Is there anyway to do it?

    A flowfield is a calculation (query) performed at runtime and related to a record. I don't know the details of what you want to do but I think that you need to store the unit price value on a global variable during posting (or on a record field) and then do calculations accordingly.

    You can't use flowfield for that because there is no value in flowfield. It is calculated automatically when you run it.

    What you can do is to copy that flowfield value to a normal field when posting the document.

    Thanks Teddy! I think this is the way to go. But how could we modify the existing posting procedure to copy that value, in other word, where should I put that code? Thanks!

    Use event subscribers and attach to events exposed by the posting routine. You can use Event Recorder in order to inspect the raised events.

    Thanks Stefano. What I want to do is - when releasing the document - copy the unit price on the sales line to another table, or modify it if already exist. I think I will need to modify the existing releasing procedure. Is that possible to add code to the existing releasing action?
