can we change the URL of the demo environment that we downloaded ? since we need to publish the environment to be accessible outside the network.

When you say downloaded, do you mean One-Box environment downloaded in VHD format? If this the environment you are talking about then AFAIK it is used for development purpose only and it is not accessible from the internet.
It has been possible to configure to be accessed from the outside. We used to do it - although we only published it in our company network. However after some MS update the authentication stopped working and we didn't invest time to look into it.

I recommend deploying a demo system in your Azure subscription - then it's automatically accessible from anywhere without any additional work from your side.
If you need to share the application outside your network, I would strongly recommend to deploy a machine on Azure. This will be more secure and you will have more options to use.
Depending on your intentions, you can also deploy a trial on trials.dynamics.com.
As mentioned in VM, AAD verification has undergone some changes, and may even no longer work.

There are something different from your needs. However, they seem to be unable to modify the URL, and still use usnconeboxax1aos.cloud.onebox.dynamics.com to access it, which may mean that you cannot set different URLs for different environments.
The Doc instructs you to use a publicly registered domain name for your production installation of AOS. In that way, the installation can be accessed outside the network, if outside access is required.
