Database compatibility issue

Posted on by 1,435

Hello,

We're trying to upgrade from Dynamics GP 2013 SP2 to Dynamics GP 2015 RTM, after starting GP Utilities and validate product information we receive a warning message and GP utilities closes, we're using SQL 2012 and all dbs on SQL 2012 (110) compatibility level, what could be the issue ?

How are the databases being created?  Are you creating them first then restoring the live ones back over the new ones?  If  so this could be your problem.  Depending upon your restore options you may be overwriting them.

If the above method is how you are doing run the following SQL statement against your databases right after the restore.

    SELECT name, compatibility_level

    FROM sys.databases

Take note of the comparability_level  result.  Make sure are all at the level of 110.

    Hi,

Yes sure. I toke another approach; I left only TWO and another live company after deleting all companies and the upgrade went OK, so it seems one of deleted companies has an issue, but how can I reach it; same issue will appear once we go for production server upgrade. Again I'm sure all DBs on SQL 2012 (110).

alaadin_75, you may need to look into the known issue section under upgrade document(upgrade.pdf).  This also covers the points as suggested by Richard and Marlena.

Are you sure you changed compatibility level for all company and system database in database properties?

Do you, by chance, have an old test database that be under an older compatibility level? Check you dynamics..sy01500 table to confirm which databases are GP related. Look at the INTERID column.
