Why does Inventory Valuation report show a date a day before my set Starting date?

When running an Inventory valuation report with the filters as shown below:

 
The report show a start date a day earlier:

    Why does Inventory Valuation report show a date a day before my set Starting date?
    Hi,
     
    The First Column just show opening balance.
     
    In your example you have filters 01/05/23 to 30/04/24.
     
    Report will show - Till 30/04/2023 (Opening Balance) - 100. (assumption).
     
    If increase is 10 and decrease is 5 then closing (as of end date 30/04/24) = 100-10-5 = 85 (Closing as of end date).
     
    Formula is - Opening + Increase -Decrease = Closing.
     
    With this report will show right numbers.
