Update exchange rate field on record entity

Posted on by 35

Hello!

Im trying to assign to each record on my entity diferent exchange rate values (acording to the report year). For another of my entities the exchange rate field is unlocked and can be edited manually, but for the other ones is locked and I don't find a way to unlocked.

Has someone know how to unlock the exchange field on the entity?

Thank you!

    Hi Sofia,

A workaround is working for me. Change the Display name of the Exchange Rate column and put it in two or three tabs. The column will be editable for you.

    Thanks

    Hi Sofia,

The unlocking behaviour is a bug... I do not know when it is going to fix... As per my knowledge, this is the only way, If you know any other please share with me.

    Thanks

    Hi Abdul!

Thanks for your respond, so basically the only way to do an update to the exchange rate is from the currency entity correct?

As for the bug, has they mention anything else regards when will it get fixed?

    Thank you!

RE: Update exchange rate field on record entity

    Hi sofia,

We were facing a similar issue after the discussion with Microsoft support we are able to know that the unlocking of the exchange rate in some entities is a bug and it will be fixed... If you need to update an exchange rate of a record the only way is to update the exchange rate on the currency table and then update the currency type column value of the record for which you need an update in the exchange rate.

Let me know if I can provide you with more details
