Expected Stuffs to get from our NAV partner upon implementation

Hi all,

I am just curious, when we implement Dynamics Nav 2016 what should I expect to get from our partner ? I just notice that my Navision partner only gave me 1 Regular Burned DVD with blurred Dynamics NAV Logo as the cover of the DVD; and inside it there was just the dynamics NAV installer. This NAV partner of mine is registered in the microsoft website with Gold Certification but I think they should not only give us 1 regular burned DVD upon our purchase..

    Hi

    Developer environment will come with installer given to you.

    Whenever you run the setup it will show to install also

    I dont think we have open developer environment installed to our system. It was not included in the implementation package. Is there any other way to check my license file ?

    Open developer environment---> Open Database--> Go to Tools--> License Information--> Click on Upload--> Select License File

    After uploading restart the NAV service.

    Yeah I got an .flf file. How do I upload them in the customer database ?

    Whenever your purchase license from partner they will give will one license file (.flf) which need to upload in customer database as well as they will activate the customersource for you where you can check the details of your license and BREP terms.

    Purchase of software and licenses does that means like the activation code or some sort of that ? How do we know if our license is registered in Microsoft database ? I was not given an access to CustomerService in Microsoft resources is that something that we must obtain when we implement the software ?

    There are two things you are obtaining from your Partner:

    - purchase of software and licenses

    - implementation of the system

    In first case, you are paying your Partner just for the licenses; for that, he provides you with licenses themselves, installation package, and access to CustomerService in Microsoft resources (login and password) - so you can have access to support materials, provided by Microsoft. Good partners also provide clients with some books or manuals they might have.

    Then, the Partner is capable to make any kind of consultancy and implementation based on your requirements, but at a separate fee, and you need to agree that separately.
