For the customer card edit in excel functionality we can change values and publish without a problem. As soon as we add "new" and publish we get the error with 'Data Object not Provided'... we have tried many different scenarios with the same results. In fact, it seems like all edit in excel function gets the same error.

The publish in Excel issue is being caused by having Date columns added. You need to go into the Design area and remove any date fields form the workbook, then update, then you'll be able to publish new records back into Financials.
Depending one what area you are using the 'Edit in Excel' feature, you may need to remove multiple date fields.
This issue should be resolved in the next update I believe.
'Steps for fixing this when attempting to publish new Accounts'
• Open the Edit in Excel spreadsheet
• Click on ‘Design’
• Click ‘Edit’ next to G_L_Account_Card Table
• Under the Selected Fields area, Remove the ‘Last_Date_Modified’ field
• Click Update and then Done
• Click Refresh
