We started down the path of implementing Dynamics GP 10.0, (used a consulting firm to help us set it up initially) and the people in charge of integrating our existing company data dropped the ball. Currently the integration is being re-visited, but the install (exists on a physical machine) needs to be moved to a virtual environment. The program files are located on a partition, the data and log files are also on separate partitions. Since I've tried (with no great success) to re-create the exisiting system (without the help of a consulting firm) I was wondering if this is the only way I can go. I know the client installs have a imaging technique which allows a template to be created, and am hoping to try to ghost or image our server (partitions?)
If my only course is to re-create the existing configuration (I'll have to call the consulting firm) that's fine, but the plug-ins (Mekorma, Frx, Integration Manager, etc.) may also be an issue.
I'm starting to contemplate if this is a good solution with the amount of companies we do accounting for. I want a solution which is easy to maintain (re-create) and work with. Oh yes, to complicate these further, We currently have the instance (running on the physical machine) running SQL Server Enterprise 2005 and want our new (Virtualized) system to have SQL Server 2005 Standard.
Thanks in advance, to anyone with any insight-
Roy
