Hi partner,
We could use JavaScript in D365, Microsoft allows us uploading web resorces to add js code into D365.
If you want to add js on the form, D365 provides a prefessional development plantform "Xrm" cause form dose not support using js to control DOM and using JQuery.

In general, We use js code on the form to control the contents of form like fields, subgrids, labels, BPF and even workflows..
Not only can we control the display/style of the fields, we can also manipulate the record through the Web API.
