Planning Worksheets Results

Posted on by 35

Hi, hopefully a simple question, I am running the planning worksheet, and have a start date and end date entered(eg. 21/01/21 - 31/03/21), I am using a forecast also and I enter dates to exclude forecast before 21/01/21.

Why when the results come through, am I getting suggestions to create prod.Order and purchase order with order date of as far back as March 2020?

    Marley,

I would add to Bryan's reply that their are so many factors and NAV 2013 had updates that could have impacted the resolution/issue. If you can recreate this in a more recent version it would help. Do you have a Cronus version, that you can test in to compare standard NAV 2013 to your production version, in case customized?

If you cannot determine the cause, please submit a Support Request.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Marley,

Thank you for posting your question in the Community.  The question is actually a very complicated one, with many variables that could potentially come into play here....Most Notably the version you are inquiring this on and the Configuration of the Item/SKU/Inventory Setup/Mfg. Setup.  I will elaborate a bit...

    1. NAV 2013 - There were significant changes back when 2013 was released in the Planning area.  With that, I would say there were many different Planning issues/problems addressed in Cumulative Updates.  It could possibly be your issue was a problem already fixed in a Cumulative Update.  You will first want to check what "APPLICATION" build the customer is on.  To find this, you must review the build within Code Unit 1 of Object Designer (don't look at Help>About...that is just platform build and is irrelevant to business code logic).   Then you can sift through these (for 2013 and 2013R2 depending on)...

    2. It would be important to know the setup configuration of the Item Card and/or SKU if applicable, as well as the Inventory and MFG Setup.  For example, is this a "Lot-for-Lot" Reorder Policy?  Using Forecast is not recommended for "Fixed Reorder Qty." Reorder Policy...just a couple example points, but these again are just a couple of the many configuration questions that need to be known.  Please review some links below for guidance.

This topic gets pretty deep in just a Communities forums case.  If you can reproduce the same issue in a newer version of NAV/BC that is a Supported Version, you may want to submit a Support Request.  Otherwise, I'll let others chime in who want to provide insight.

    Bryan
