Sharing records

Posted on by 1,299

Hi,

I have to share accounts based on a field in the account, let say Category which has  blue, green, red so on. How can i do this. I know I can do an advanced find and select all and give access to some one but the list is not constant, we might create an account today and the respective person might not get access to it, how can this be handled.

Thanks

Only way to use the basic (owner) teams is

Create multiple teams with members based on ur account category

Create a workflow to assign account of a specific category to the corresponding team

This will change the record ownership to that team and the record would be visible to all the members in the team

No, it would be applicable on crm 2013 onwards. If you are using 2011 sharing by code is only option but that will cause performance issues as it occupies a lot of space in db under POA table

    So it's entirely upto u

Use access teams based on your account category

You will have to create a plugin which will add access teams to the records based on category

    Hi Nithya,

I think the code shared is to find out existing access to records.

    Thanks

    Hi Davyjones,

Please refer the following link. I think the code described helps you to share records based on a field of an entity in dynamics crm.
