Merging two organizations in CRM365 on premise

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi

We have two companies running CRM365 from the same on premise server.
The companies are split up in two different organizations in Dynamics deployment manager.
After merging the two companies together we would like to use one database/organization in CRM transferring data from Company A to Company B or merging both into a new company.

What is the best practice way to do this, I could not fint a method to do this without 3rd party applications?
Any advice would be appreciated.

CRM version 8.2.1.176

Best regards,
Roger Nielsen

By the way, we are merging A (CRM 2016) into B (CRM 2016).

Hi Roger we are in similar situation. We would like to merge 2 CRM 2016 organisations to one. Have different customisations but both CRM's are on same version. How did you go with this? What was your approach? Any learnings?

    Hi Alex

Thank you for responding to my post.

We have different customizations so I will have to solve that first.

I`ll look into Scribe and SSIS.

    Thank you,

    Roger

    Hi Roger,

there is no "out of the box" functionality you can use for this. Besides, I'm not sure if you mean those two organizations have exactly the same customizations or not.

If the configurations/customizations are different, you'll have to merge them first (won't be that different from any other configuration/customization project).

Once you have that, you'll still need to migrate the data. So you will likely need third party tools like Scribe or SSIS(with a Dynamics connector from companies like Kingsway or CozyRoc).
