Does anyone know whether the fiscal period 12 needs to be opened for a pay period ending December 30th 2011? The pay date is set for 1/06/2012 and we want this to go towards the 2012 W2s.
We closed fiscal period 12 after the 2012 tax table updates. The problem is it was going to January expenses and January GL.
Is that because the fiscal period 12 is closed but should be open?

The G/L month that the activity gets posted to is controlled by the Posting Date in the batch. Now that it has posted you don't have any option but to go in and post reversals for the activity. What I do is turn OFF Post Through G/L for that payroll run just to make sure it has the right dates before it is posted. In the future change the posting date to 12/31 of the year you want to post to.
