Error Applying Latest Service Pack for GP 2013

Posted on by 3,480

Hi:

I'm getting the error shown below, in GP Utilities, upon trying to apply the latest service pack for GP 2013.

What is the remedy?

Thanks!

John

    John,

Good to know you found it.

I always try (at least not to forget) to check out the deployed reports before starting an upgrade, as this one of the most common errors happening.

Check out my blog post on the topic: dyngpgeek.wordpress.com/.../

Emptying the SY40800 makes sure the deployed reports aren't going to interfere with the upgrade :-)

Actually, I just now found the answer, as I test upgraded going to GP 2016 R2.

It's that business where GP mentions the SQL Reporting Services URL is not valid.  So, that is something that I can take care of later.

    Thanks, for chiming in, Beat!

    HI John,

In doubt, you may want to enable the DEXSQL trace log in the DEX.ini... it slows the Dynamics Utilities a bit down, but you'll get a more precise hint on what's wrong with the upgrade.

Interestingly enough, the upgrade concluded with no errors for any company.  Usually, in such situations, an upgrade "concludes" by saying that an upgrade cannot go any further.

I’ll test and press on.  If there is anything else, I’ll alert everybody.

    John
