Management Reporter Ignoring row with "*" that it created via FRX Migration

Posted on by 575

I have a report that included this row:

5???-05 +(6017-05)

After Migration, the line was changed to:

+Account = [5*], Department = [05] +Account = [6017], Department = [05]

When generating the report, it ignores all of the 5??? accounts and only reports the 6017 account.   If I change it back to question marks, it will pick up the 5??? accounts.

Bug?

I'm not positive that this explains the mixup but it might, found it while searching for a similar problem.

The question mark (?) is a wildcard character in an account mask for a fully-qualified-account-based system, and the asterisk (*) is a wildcard character in an account mask for a dimension-based system.

I've used both the ? and * for a row modifier batch attribute and it displayed the correct results for both. My guess would also be that it's a bug too.

I found the same problem a couple of time.  In both cases it was a row that followed a calculated row (sum of prior rows).  Not sure if it is related, but it seems suspicious.
