CMTRX Batch Stuck in Posting

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have an user who asked me to release the batch held on posting. We took a backup and ran the SQL update to release as recommended on KB article 850289 -UPDATE SY00500 SET MKDTOPST=0, BCHSTTUS=0 where BACHNUMB='CMTRX00023774'. After running the SQL update, the batch now shows as Available if you go to Series posting but if you go to the actual batch (Financial>Transactions>Batches) it still shows as Updating.

I ran reconcile on batches and it certainly gave me an error where the batch total for that batch was updated but it did not do anything else.   I think half batch posted and half stuck . When i check transaction its give error journal entry 948526 has been already posted.

    Hi Tariq,

As the batch appears to be damaged and you removed records from SQL that could have been the proper records to keep you may need to open a support case for this issue so we can take a better look at what the data is looking like.

Sorry, I don't have any better news but at this point I believe it might be best to have some of our engineers review the issue.

I delete it from SQL and when i want delete from front end its give error jentry already posted.

After deletion i run checklinks of finaicial, but same error in posting "

"microsoft odbc sql server driver sql server cannot insert the value null into column debitamt  gl10110 colum doest not allow null update fails""

How did you delete the transactions?  Through the front-end or through SQL?  You may want to try running checklinks now on the Financial series to see if that resolves the issue.  I'd also run the Financial Reconcile against batches as well.

If it's stuck in Updating it sounds like there still may be a stuck record in the DYNAMICS..SY00800.

The safest way to clean this up would be to have all the users out of GP and then follow the below article by running the scripts to clear out all activity records.

    support.microsoft.com/.../850289

Secondly, if there are some journal entries that exist in the GL20000 already, you may need to delete those individually from the batch.
