Management Reporter- Default Base Year in report definition

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

I have a client who recently installed Management Reporter.  It is not the newest build.  When they open a report definition, there are the dropdown lists for the Base Period and Base Year in the date information not saved with report definition section.  In the dropdown for base year, the list stops at 2011.  Since their current fiscal year is 2012 I would expect this list to at least show that.  What am I missing here?  How is this list populated or what is it based on?

Thanks,

Seth

I have the same issue, too.  Ran the script above which shows 2011, 2012 and 2013, exactly as it should, since those are the only years with data.  However, Report Definition Base Year combo box shows 2006 - 2012.  It's missing 2013.  In spite of that, reports run with Base Year = 2012 return data for 2013.

I am getting the same issue, but I am seeing the last fiscal year as 2009. The fiscal year is 2013.

I have since upgraded the client to MR 2012 but I am still seeing the same issue.  The last date available to choose is fiscal year 2011.  Any thoughts?

I am having the same issue, I have closed off the year (2012) in GP10 and have all my 2013 periods set up but I do not see 2013 available for me in the drop down.  I need to start issueing budget reports for 2013 but cannot do so without being able to select the right base year.   The odd thing is that when I use the drop down for the default base period and select last closed period it brings up 12/31/2011.  Every period in 2012 has been closed.....  Any ideas on this?

    Hello Cory,

Thank you for the reply.  I finally was able to get the results of the sql script you suggested.  Years 2012 and 2013 both appear on the results list so that would indicate based on your explanation that data has been posted to those two years.  Do you have any other thoughts on why the Base Year would not included these values?

    Hello Seth,

MR runs one of the following 2 queries based on your version to get the years.

SL 2011 RTM provider version: 8.0.20321.00

    SELECT pernbr, RetEarnAcct, FiscalPerEnd00, FiscalPerEnd01, FiscalPerEnd02, FiscalPerEnd03, FiscalPerEnd04, FiscalPerEnd05, FiscalPerEnd06, FiscalPerEnd07, FiscalPerEnd08, FiscalPerEnd09, FiscalPerEnd10, FiscalPerEnd11, FiscalPerEnd12, BaseCuryId, NbrPer, PerNbr, BegFiscalYr FROM .dbo.GLSetup where FiscalPerEnd00 > '0'

    SL 2011 SP1 Provider version: 8.1.21108.1

    SELECT fiscal_year from .dbo.vw_gltran union select fiscal_year from .dbo.vw_accthist order by fiscal_year

If the year doesn't show up in the list then it may be data has not been posted to it.
