Power BI Embedded in a onebox environment

Hi,

I've been working my way through the guide posted here to configure the "hack" suggested by Microsoft to set up Power BI Embedded in a onebox environment. https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/dynamicsaxbi/2017/07/29/accessing-analytical-workspaces-on-1box-environment/

The blog post is a little out of date as it uses Power BI Workspace Collections which is now deprecated. So I've configured everything as per the documentation except I've set up a Power BI Embedded Capacity instead. 

When accessing an Analytical Workspace (I've been testing with Bank Management) I get the error message "Failed to publish Power BI Embedded report BankBalanceWorkspacePBIX."

Has anyone had luck setting up Power BI Embedded in a onebox environment using the new Power BI Embedded Capacity? Or knows how i can debug/troubleshoot this error message.

    Hi Ben, 

    experiencing similar issues here, although I did use "Power BI Workspace Collections" per the older documentation.

    Did you find a solutio to get Power BI Embedded working on your 1box instance?

    Would love to learn how you resolved the issue!

    Hi,

    No there hasn't been an update on this. I read somewhere that this functionality will be introduced "soon" but I've had no confirmed timeline on this. I've read that the old workaround does still work though, as the PBI Collections is still available in Azure if you run the scripts. I wouldn't count on it as a permanent solution though given that it has been deprecated.

    Hi Rahul,

    Thank you for sharing these links.

    Although I am also very interested in learning more about the two other reporting content packs (from LCS an the homebuild?), my first priority is getting the Power BI embedded working on my 1box instance.

    Maybe you can share your insights and tips on this?

    Has anyone been able to get this "hack" to work in one box environment with platform version 10? We configured the environment according to the guide. Now when we try to open one of the standard reports we get error message such as: "Failed to publish Power BI Embedded report FinancialInsightsCrossCompanyPBIX".
