Update Primary Vendor on Inventory Items

Is there a tool or way to select a group of inventory items and change the primary vendor? I am looking for way to implement for a user to use not for a person to write a SQL script. The client does own Extender and SmartConnect - and I'm sure I can do it somehow through all these tools. But I'm unsure how to accomplish.

Does anyone know if you can update Primary Vendor on ALL site locations at once for a list of inventory items using Integration Manager without having to repeat every item for every site it is assigned to on the import file?

Integration Manager is one way. Another way is to use a macro after you have extracted the list from SmartList into excel. It could be done with a SQL Script but you would need a way to select the records to be updated.

Are you thinking of changing the primary vendor to a specific vendor for a range of inventory items? I do not know of a tool that has already been written ready for delivery, but it is a very doable update. The first questions that pop into my head:

How will the group of items be selected?

Will the vendor/item relationship already exist?

It sounds like an easy requirement set; however, I have never had a client ask for such a tool.
