D365 Real Time Journeys reporting & Microsoft Fabric

Hi

Is our only option now to use Microsoft Fabric if we want to report on the customer interaction data from Real Time Journeys?
The price is so high, and its not really worth paying it if we are not going to use it for anything else.

Are there any other options?

Thank you

Thank you both, I actually find jwcpc's answer a bit more practical, but Holly you provided a lot of alternatives and some pros and cons which I also find helpful :)

I'm not sure that's correct, Holly. But feel free to show me steps to connect to real time interaction via Dataverse, I have never found the tables in there. Outbound marketing is all in Blob storage. There is this currently in Public Preview: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/release-plan/2025wave1/customer-insights/dynamics365-customer-insights-journeys/export-data-own-storage-custom-reporting

Good morning, afternoon, or evening depending on your location!
Hope you are well today :)

While Microsoft Fabric offers seamless integration with D365 Real Time Journeys, its cost may not be justified if they’re not leveraging its full capabilities. Fortunately, there are alternative ways to report on customer interaction data without relying solely on Fabric.
Alternative Reporting Options for D365 Real Time Journeys
    1. Dataverse Direct Queries in Power BI
      • Since Real Time Journeys stores data in Dataverse, your client can connect Power BI directly to Dataverse using the OData feed or the Dataverse connector.
      • This allows them to build reports without needing Fabric.
    2. Export Data to Azure Storage
      • If they have Azure Blob Storage, they can export Real Time Journeys data to a storage account and connect Power BI to it.
      • This method is useful for organizations that already use Azure but don’t want to pay for Fabric.
    3. Use Power Automate for Data Extraction
      • Power Automate can be used to extract customer interaction data from D365 Real Time Journeys and store it in SharePoint, SQL, or another accessible database.
      • Power BI can then connect to these sources for reporting.
    4. Custom API Integration
      • If they have development resources, they can use Dynamics 365 APIs to pull Real Time Journeys data into a custom reporting database.
      • This requires some technical setup but avoids Fabric costs.
    5. Third-Party ETL Tools
      • Some organizations use third-party ETL tools like Azure Data Factory or Talend to extract and transform data from D365 Real Time Journeys into a more cost-effective reporting solution.
    Key Considerations
    • Data Refresh Rates: Fabric provides real-time updates, whereas alternatives may require scheduled refreshes.
    • Complexity vs. Cost: Some alternatives require more setup but can significantly reduce costs.
    • Security & Compliance: Ensure that any alternative method aligns with data governance policies.
If you are seeking a low-cost solution, Dataverse direct queries in Power BI or Azure Blob Storage exports might be the best options.

    Hope this is helpful :)
