It looks like with the wave 2 update, there has been an update which removes the alphabetic filter bar. What is the method of returning the bar, even if it is only only selected views?

    Hi TarrasQ,

Yes, the alphabetic filter bar missing with the wave 2 update.

But you can make it appear through adding '&flags=FCB.PcfDatasetGrid%3Dfalse' in the address bar behind your url, which can turn off the new grids.

Or you can open the ticket with Microsoft and ask for support: https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/support

Please kindly follow the below steps to turn it back on in settings (entity by entity):

Go to Advanced Settings > Customizations > Customize the system > Entities > Select the entity you want to customize > Controls > Add Control > Select “Power Apps Grid” and then enable the Jump bar setting > Save & Publish the changes:

Hi This seems to be working, though I wonder what reason made them remove it? I am going to check the release notes (docs.microsoft.com/.../) maybe I do find out more about it and what this "Power Apps Grid" is meant for (what other features it brings along with). Unless it is an unintentional side effect, there must be some reason as they could have spent their valuable time for other things (e.g. remove the 5000+ record count... we always have a tiny number of just 5000+ records ...).

However, I can see that users are now able to move the position of the columns manually and dynamically, which is a very nice feature, indeed! In the marketing list it is just by drag & drop (very nice!!) for views ist via some button (again many clicks but better than before). I prefer the easiest drag and drop way as in the marketing list.

I have found it on page 449 all about the new power apps grid (readonly) and an editable is planned.  However, there is no documentation to remove the alphabetic filtering control of the current scenarios.

    Hi,

Do you know if you can set the Jump Bar to filter on non-primary fields of the table you are on. I.e: Filter Accounts beginning with A on Opportunity table

I am sure that is what it used to do before the release wave!

RE: Dynamics List View - Missing Alphabetic Filtering control.

I would call 'filter' for something using the 'Filter by' in the column. I would call 'shortlist' the way you get a list with specific initials.

As far as I can see, I could shortlist for all opportunities where the account starts by 'A' as long I would save the account with a lookup field against that opportunity record. You would have to sort first for that field. Once selected to sort in priority for, you could shortlist with the respective initial letter (e.g. Owner).

Now imagine that you had a 'key contact' on each account with a lookup for (related) contacts (similar to the Relationship Manager of an account this key contact would be the one guy from the account you would address first).

You could add this 'key contact' field to the view (as it's related via the account lookup from the opportunity). Even you could to sort for this specific related 'key contact' field on the account. However, I would not be able to shortlist by the initial letter for this 'key contact'. I guess this is what you meant with 'filter' for 'non-primary' fields on the 'jump bar'.

But for the time being I could filter (with begins with 'A') using the 'Filter by' command in the column.  As soon as I would use the jump bar I get some error messages in the console:

    get 400 error
