PO for Projects relieved by Timecards

Client creates a PO for services for a project, which shows up as a committed cost - e.g. $100,000

The consultants are entering timecards on a weekly basis, which when approved update the project - e.g. $5,000 so when we look at the project costs it shows as PTD - $5,000, Committement - $100,000 and Totals of $105,000.

They would like somehow to have the committed amount releived of te $5,000 so that the committement value after week 1 shows $95,000.

Is this possible?

Dear Brian,

The po needs to be "received" / vouchered in order for the commit from a po to be relieved. This is the only way to reduce a commit from a PO. Labor commits are separate, when they enter time and run labor commits they would get their hours in commits. When time is "posted" commitments are relieved. So basically you need to be entering and relieving commits through the same functions. I could suggest a custom report to create. If you enter 100k in commits in po, and enter 5000.00 in commits for labor, normally it would just add them up to 105.000 as totals, You'd want to create a report that would basically subtract the 5k from the 100k instead. But I assume that 100k doesn't stay committed always---so not sure how the site is reducing the commits from the PO.
