PSA qualify Lead into opportunity

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

When qualifying a lead in PSA, the system created a general opportunity in stead of a Project Opportunity.

How can I make sure the lead is qualified into a Project Opportunity?

Thanks!

Els

If you set a default organization in your Parameters will definitely solve the problem if you only have one organization.  The next issue that arises if you have more than one organization with multiple price/cost lists it will always default to the same organization.  Out of the box, PSA makes the Contracting Unit ID read-only on the opportunity once you qualify the lead and you are not allowed to change the contracting unit.  Still researching the best we to overcome this issue, but hopefully Microsoft comes out with a fix in the Spring Release.

Try Configuring "Parameter" with valid Sales and Cost Price list. This solved my issue.

I think adding Price List as Lead is not a good idea.

Try Configuring "Parameter" with valid Sales and Cost Price list. This solved my issue.

OK problem solved without deactivating anything:

    1. created a price list field in Lead

1.1 changed field to a lookup - price list

    2. added field to form

    3. Relationship mapping 1:N (LEAD) > opportunity_originating_lead

3.1 source is new field from lead to target pricelist field in opportunity.

Works and form switching works as per Andre.

    Good day Els,

I have the same issue and been following all your past posts on PSA and having the exact same issue as I go.

Could you perhaps assist me with the business rule that caused the error, as I changed the type to Work-Based and got the error?

    Thank you

Seems like it is asking for the contracting unit and validated via either workflow or business rules. Try to find the Business Rules or workflow on opportunity that asking for contracting unit and deactivate it. It seems the shipped validation doesn’t handle lead qualification process well

Make sure the "Type" value in Lead is set to Work-Based
