Opening a List in EditList mode

Hello.  I have a List Page that I have set up as Editable=yes so it opens in Edit List.  That's well and good.  However, when users want to save their filters, they got to Save as View.  Then when they open this View, it now opens in View List Mode.  Is there any way I can override this by calling a command from the On Open Page event/method?  Users want to edit into the list directly without having to click onto Edit List from Home but they also want to save their filters. Thank you.

    And you can't save an Edit List.  YOu can only save a View List.

    I figured this out.  All you have to do t ensure page opens in edit list mode is to assign it to the Tasks section in the menuitem.
