Missing the functionality for sending a "rejection email" to candidates

Posted on by

When rejecting a candidate in Attract, how does the candidate get notified?

In the Job portal application, he or she can only see that the applications status is now closed with no further explanation.

Am I the only one missing the functionality for sending a "rejection email" to one or more candidates?

I would expect that I should be able to create email templates for rejecting candidates, but I can't find it anywhere.

Is this hidden somewhere or will it come in a new build?

Best regards

Peter T.

Now I have heard from the Talent team at Microsoft..

They have confirmed that this functionality for creating and sending "rejection email templates" is missing. This is on their list of features for the Spring release (approx. April 2019).

Thank you for your reply Nicu,

I understand your point, but I'm not so sure if Microsofts has considered this best practice.

My customer has requested this functionality, since it is standard in other HR tools.

In many cases hiring managers and recruiters can get a high number of applications for one job offer, and in the early stages of reviewing it would facilitate the work load to be able to mark a number of applicants and send a rejection email, similar to the other email templates in Attract.

I have sent a request regarding this issue to Microsoft and I'm hoping that they'll reveal something new :-)

    Best regards

    Hi Peter,

I understand your point, but I guess Microsoft also considered the best practice - usually candidates that get into the recruitment process and portal were considered eligible at one moment or another and therefore the rejection should be communicated by phone or in a personalised email. For the moment I don't know about any  way to  have status rejected in the portal and I don't think there will be one. Also, I don't know any other tool that would put that status for candidates.

I hope this argument will help in front of the customer!

    regards,

    nicu
