A Managed Solution Cannot Overwrite the Attribute Component

Posted on by 595

Hello All,

We have two Orgs Org1 and Org2. I have created an unmanaged solution in Org1 and exported it as managed solution and tried to import it in Org2. But the error is populating that "A managed solution cannot overwirte the attribute component with ID " which has unmanaged base instance.

I have identified the attribute name and the entity.

Here are solutions i found

1) delete the attribute in the Org2 and also in the unmanaged solution of Org1 and try to import, Or

2)delete the attribute only in Org2 and try to import the solution Or

3)Change the attribute in Org2 from unmanaged to managed

Any one is facing the same issue? Please provide feedback if you have any ideas.

Thanks,

Abhilash.

I'm having this same issue with an Entity Relationship. It's the contact_knowledgebaserecord N:N relationship. When I try to delete it in the target environment it says I cannot delete it because you can only delete custom relationships. How can I get around this so my import will work?

    Hi,

This is the expected behavior since you can't import a managed attribute with the same name as an unmanaged attribute.

You'll need to delete the attribute in Org2 (perhaps first do an export/import of data to move the current values into a different attribute)

    Hope this helps
