Need an upgrade procedure from GP 10/SQL 2005Express to GP2010/SQL 2008 Express.
Question is Should i go with backup restore for SQL 2005 to SQL 2008 or Upgrade from SQL 2005 to SQL 2008

Personally, I'd recommend a backup from SQL 2005 and restore to SQL 2008 (support.microsoft.com/.../878449).
Doing it this way would allow you to keep the SQL2005 instance of SQL for rolling back to in case of problems with the move.
If you are keeping everything on the same machine, easiest to do an 'in-place' upgrade on SQL, then a normal GP upgrade.
