AnyView - Looking for Users Who Are Using this Today

Posted on by 1,350

I'm looking for some AnyView users who might let me (not using AnyView) peek over their shoulders and look at some real life ways in which they are using AnyView.

1) **I'm trying to see if we might be able to use it with EXCEL to create certain invoice formats we have to prepare.**

2) I'm trying to see how we might be able to include in our current BUSINESS PORTAL and/or SHAREPOINT environment.

3) I'm just curious how others are using it, and their opinions about the product.

If you think you might be interested please contact me at dsimon@jmt.com or leave your information on this post.  Thanks!  Dave

    Thanks for the feedback.

http://www.xlreporter.com/products/index.htm  - XL Reporter is an advanced, Excel-based financial report writer that sits directly on top of your ERP system.

7 modules are offered.  The 2 we might have most interest in are the Financial Reports and Drill Down Anywhere modules?

I'll look more into it.  Thanks.  I'm still interested in speaking directly with SL users using AnyView or XLReporter.  If you are out there, contact me at dsimon@jmt.com.

Another product one of our clients found is XL Reporter.  I dont know much about it, but they found it helpful.

The real problem is that the more "user friendly" a reporting tool is, the more limited it is (by nature, it must simplify, and SL is a complex system)

I've done some simple things to extract data from SL (including ODBC), but I'm tempted that AnyView would help take me from 0mph to 60mph way, way faster than I could do it on my own.

    1) I've used ODBC to connect to Access.  Then I query data and dump it to EXCEL.

    2) I've used EXCEL's "MS query"/ODBC and the "SQL Server" option to pull data into EXCEL.

    3) I've used some VBA/ADO in EXCEL to pull data to EXCEL.

I may know more than some users, but I'm not an expert on any of this so I feel limited.  I was wondering/trying to discover if AnyView will be the answer to all my querying needs.  I thought if I could see another user and they way they use it to pull data to EXCEL (especially for something like an excel invoice format), I might be sooo impressed...I'd abandon all my "manual" attempts to get data to excel and purchase AnyView. :-)

You ARE aware that you can directly read Solomon files from Excel using the ODBC connection, right?
