Richard is right on the tables to use. But you should be aware of the way the data is stored.
For Example, if you had an expense account and you only have one transaction during the entire year which occured in June. You will only find one row for the balance and that would be June. There will not be a row for July thru December.
So if you were wanting to see the balance for July, you will get no records returned.
