Creating Work Order from Booking Date record if Field Service using Windows Application

We are processing booking date record through the windows app and creating work order record as per the custom logic, after the creation of work order record we set the work order lookup on Booking date record with created work order and make Booking Date record status as PROCESSED.

But while updating Booking date record we got following Error.

A work order can only be set by the plug-in code when the system executes the logic to generate a work order.

A user can't update status to Processed manually.

Please, anybody, help us to resolve this issue.

    Hi Prashant, thanks for your reply, but it didn't solve the issue that I am facing.

    My issue is, I am creating Work Order based on my custom logic and once the Work Order is created, I update the Agreement Booking Date entity (this is shipped along the Field Service Solution) with the Created Work Order (Work Order is a lookup on Agreement Booking Date) and set the Status (this is not OOB Status, but a field that ships with the Field Service solution) of the Agreement Booking Date to Processed. But, I suspect there is a Field Service plug-in that doesn't allow this to happen. And, we didn't find a way to overcome.

    We end up getting the error while doing the above things, the error is as follow, "A work order can only be set by the plug-in code when the system executes the logic to generate a work order."

     

    Please anyone can help me with this?

    Workorder status is linked to booking entity. When you update the booking entity status, status of the work order also changed.

    Thats true you cant change the status of work order manually. OOB work order status is linked to bookings. So Field Service Agents are supposed to change 'Booking' status which automatically updates Work Order status.

    Is Booking Date a custom entity? You can link Booking date status to Work Order via a workflow or Plugin and disable the existing workflow if you are not using 'Bookings' at all.

    if you are not using 'Bookings', how do you populate work orders on calendar??
