Can we merge two D365FFO instances into one instance ?

Hi All,

i have unusual question regarding D365FFO instances, i know technically it can  not be done since each has its own DB, but wanted to check here what could be done as work around.

we have two D365FFO instances, each has its own Legal entity, and we want to move them both into same D365FFO instance, having both legal entities in same instance.

can anyone please advise if this is possible.

    Hi Mohammad,

    you can copy data between systems: you would need to do a manual data migration using data entities, just like if migrating from some other system (not D365) into D365.

    And you would need to start by gathering requirements about what needs to be migrated. It can't be a 1:1 data copy.  

    At least you need data like master data, balances and open orders.

    Hi Mohammad,

    Merging the databases is not possible. Like Nikoloas mentioned, you can do data migration. However note that you can't transfer the historical transactions. You can only create opening balances.
