How to get Outlook email experience in Views

My client is looking for a better user experience for CRM end users when it comes to system notifications such as:

 

  1. Outlook email experience in Views, e.g. unread records are displayed in bold or show a custom icon next to the record – users can see at glance what records they haven’t opened.
  2. LinkedIn badge experience, e.g. unread records have a badge/record count to display as per above.

 

Is it possible to achieve something like this?
