Is it possible to set-up a blanket purchase order for non-inventory items, such as professional services and track the overall dollar amount? We have no need to break down the overall dollar amount into monthy amounts, etc.

A true blanket PO typically involves 'releases' of a certain portion of the agreed upon quantity or value until the entire PO is consumed. Most companies I've worked with use the standard PO and perform multiple, periodic receipts against a single line on the PO until the entire quantity or value has been received.
Thank you, Frank. To track professional services, do you recommend standard or blanket? I appreciate your time and info sharing. We are in process of implementing the po module and experiencing disconnects in regard to terminology.
Yes it is. Just like Standard POs, the Blanket PO doesn't care whether it's non-inventory or inventory.
