Calculated fields don't update after import - CRM 365 Online

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

We have imported 2000 records into a custom entity.

Some fields are set to be calculated using other fields imported at the same time into the same entity.

Computed fields do not update automatically after import.

It appears necessary to open each record in order to trigger the calculation ?

Thanks in advance for you help, we have another 10000 records to import the same way :-(

Scott, thanks a lot , it works!

In fact the field relies on other fields that update accordind to business rules.

These rules were at the form level. Changing the level to entity solved the problem.

Interesting - perhaps these fields are performed using business rules or JavaScript? If so then yes you will need to open the record or import the field Pre calculated. If your business rules support it you can change them to entity level rules (rather than form level) so that they will calculate on the server - but you must do this before you import the data.

    Hi Scott

    Thans for your answer.

No these fields are not roll up.

    Hi,

I think you probably mean rollup fields? Calculates fields are always up to date but roll up fields are calculated on an hourly schedule. If you wait an hour you should see the rollup fields being updated.

    Hope this helps
