Microsoft Dynamics GP (Archived)

Had to pay a 3rd party for 'SupportPlus' before we went live with Dynamics GP. They tell they have no control over this and tell me this is a Microsoft policy? Is this normal?

Posted on by 75

Hi Guys,

I've got a 10 month project about to start that will be run by 3rd party. Just paid the 3rd party for the software and licensing. They also invoiced the annual support subscription that is only needed after the project does live and handed over to operations/finance.

I've since been told it starts now. It's an additional cost that I had not factored in. If the project overruns or takes long than 12 months I've paid for a cost I never used or needed.

Looks like enhancement options vary by area as the UK only has the 16% level.

With the purchase of MS Dynamics GP there are three support plans:

    Business Ready Enhancement Plan16%

    Business Ready Advantage Plan18%

    Business Ready Advantage Plus 25%

For first time customers, they must choose the 18% plan. The plan is billed at the time of purchase. You cannot time it to start only when GP is put into production. The cost for these plans should have been included in your original quotation.

You have to pay Microsoft for the Dynamics GP licence at the time of purchase. The 16% enhancement plan would start at the same time; this gives you access to upgrades and support from Microsoft.
