Different allocation quantities on Item Inquiry and Item Allocation Inquiry windows

I've discovered in our GP9 implementation that many / possibly all items that the "Allocated" quantity on the Item Inquiry window has a different value that the "Items Allocated" quantity on the Item Allocation Inquiry window. Should these values be equal for a given item?

I ran item reconcile on one of the items in question and now the quantities match!

It’s apparent to me that they should be equal for a given site-item combination.

I’ve run across this situation from time to time. A reconcile on the item number usually fixes it for me.
